- Hybrid: Work from home, and our Officer location (Minimum 2 days in the office)
- Support the preparation of strategic communications and community engagement plans for an important revitalisation infrastructure project.

**About the role**

We are seeking an experienced communications and engagement officer to support the implementation of a major revitalisation project. The projects aim to revitalise a major town centre in our Shire to make it a vibrant, safe and accessible destination to live, work and play. The project involves streetscaping, road works, improvements to laneways and arcades, parking arrangements and much more. This role involves preparing strategic community engagement plans and associated communications plans. You will be responsible for ensuring the community and local businesses have genuine opportunity to influence Council decision making where appropriate and are well informed about construction works on a regular basis as the project proceeds.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have extensive communications experience and/or knowledge of community engagement practices and principles under the Local Government Act and experience working within the IAP2 framework. You will be outcomes driven, and able to manage competing work priorities within strict timeframes.
- Proven experience in a communications or community engagement role.
- Experience in large complex infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Communications experience in a Local Government setting is desirable to include digital and strategic communications campaigns delivery.
- Sound understanding of IAP2 and Local Government Act requirements as they relate to community engagement practices.
- A passion for all things community infrastructure and understanding of Local Government infrastructure projects.
- Well-developed time management, multi-tasking and relationships building skills.
