**About the role**

This is truly a unique opportunity to join our Environment and Heritage business unit as an Environmental Planner. You will play an integral role in advocating for the protection and enhancement of the Shire’s biodiversity and will be highly sort after as a trusted advisor in providing strategic and statutory environmental planning advice both internally and externally.

Importantly, this role is within a supportive team environment, who are passionate about delivering positive environmental outcomes for the community.

**About you**

You will also need to meet the following.
- Demonstrated knowledge in natural resource management or environmental science, specifically indigenous plant identification and threatened species management.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the environmental statutory planning procedures and
- Demonstrated knowledge in the development and delivery of strategic environmental planning policies and strategies.
- Tertiary qualifications in planning, environmental science, natural resource management or a related
