**The Opportunity**

Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced turf professional to join a dynamic team responsible for maintaining quality open spaces for the community.

Playing a key role in the City Parks and Open Spaces management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of the Turf Management team. You will have sound knowledge of contemporary turf management practices, experience in motivating and developing staff and contractors and promoting and ensuring a safe workplace.

A critical component of the role will be to develop strong relationships with internal staff as well as stakeholders through strong verbal and written communication skills.

**About You**
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience, together with the ability to effectively and efficiently manage human and physical resources.
- Thorough knowledge of Turf Management theory, principles and practices and significant experience in the development and management of Turf Management Programs.
- Demonstrated experience in the specification, development and management of Mowing Programs.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Budgeting processes.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with Industry and Government Agencies.
- Demonstrated experience in the planning, design and delivery of Capital Works.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in Turf Management and or Horticulture and with extensive experience.
- Extensive experience and knowledge in the management of Elite Premier Sports fields.
- Experience in performance monitoring and reporting of Service Delivery in a diverse organisation.
- Extensive experience in the Local Government operations.
- Current driver's licence.
