An exciting opportunity exists for a person to join the Turf Management Team as a Premier Sports Fields Curator at Hume City Council. We are seeking an initiative-taking and enthusiastic person to work as part of our Turf Management Team to prepare and maintain premier sporting fields for training and match day games. These include NRL, AFL, NPL and Premier Cricket.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Develop and implement contemporary turf management programs for assigned Premier sports fields. Monitoring and reporting on the performance and quality of all premier sporting surfaces is essential
- Supervision and training of assigned staff, contractors, agency staff and apprentices.
- Provide a safe workplace for all staff, apprentices, and contractors through the implementation of organisational policies and procedures and ensure that compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation is always upheld.
- Develop and implement costed renovation programs for assigned Premier sporting fields.
- Manage and maintain the irrigation systems on all premier sporting surfaces and surrounds. Responsibilities will include programming the irrigation systems, conducting performance auditing, troubleshooting various irrigation related issues.

**The skills and experience you'll bring to the role**:

- Demonstrated turf management skills and experience.
- Possess technical skills to operate machinery including tractors and turf machinery attachments.
- Proven ability to effectively plan, implement and monitor progress of works program.
- Maintaining knowledge of and working within Organisation Policies and Procedures including WHS, EEO and Code of Conduct.
- Under the general supervision of the Turf Management Team Leader the incumbent

**Required Certifications & Qualifications**:

- Certificate in Turf Management or similar formal qualification with substantial relevant turf management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the supervision of staff, apprentices, and contractors.
- Current Driver's Licence
- Experience working within local government is desirable.
- Medium Rigid Truck Licence desirable.
- Current driver's licence.
