**About the role**:
Aurizon’s Hexham depot is recruiting for a Regional Maintenance Leader (Yard).

Lead a team by supervising, directing and organising the yard activities to support the provisioning, shunting, and marshalling of trains across the depot to deliver excellent train integrity that contributes to achievement of safety and customer service objectives. Supporting the Regional Maintenance Superintendent through maintenance related projects and continuous improvements to deliver improved maintenance services.

**Responsibilities**
- Sustain a safety culture based on values and principles by achieving and implementing all safety standards, system and initiatives to enterprise standards.
- Achieve an agreed level of on time performance including delivered in
- full, on-time (DIFOT) measures in areas of control to ensure excellent customer services.
- Liaise and collaborate with other team members and broader team to achieve operational business objectives and optimise available resources.
- Maintain an elevated level of competence and technical knowledge of train and yard operations across the team through the regular performance of relevant duties (i.e., shunting/provisioning) and ensure the observance of NSW Safework and other statutory regulations.
- Lead the team to support the delivery of operational strategy and oversee its implementation within the team.
- Build positive workplace relationships with allocated team including setting and monitoring of performance standards and behavioural standards, building a high-performance team, and managing performance, disciplinary matters.
- Take accountability for incident investigations within the area of responsibility and conduct timely, complete, detailed and factual investigations reports.

**About you**:
You are an engaging leader with a trade qualification and have previous line leadership in a large-scale logistics or heavy industrial organization.
- Demonstrated experience is maintenance coordination, supervision, execution and analysis.
- Demonstrated project management skills and a clear understanding of the planning and scheduling process.
- Significant operational knowledge of HV Coal Network and yard operations including provisioning, shunting and maintenance.
- Well-developed Safety management skills and knowledge including incident investigation, safety interactions, near miss reporting, isolation and lockout standards and behaviour-based safety leadership.
- High level of skill in trouble shooting, fault rectification, minor repairs and conducting preventative maintenance procedures on rollingstock or similar equipment.
- High level of communication and influencing communication skills.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology.
