**Suncorp Group are currently seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join Commercial & Personal Injury team based on a 12-month fixed-term contract.**

**The Objective of the Role is to provide insights and expert advice to enable the CTP business to make decisions regarding their profit and shareholder return strategy. Develop and implement reporting tools of an actuarial nature, assist with actuarial valuations and portfolio analysis, and to provide actuarial pricing support.**

**You will be working as part of a team to support the national CTP business in 4 states.**

**What you’ll do**:

- Prepare, investigate and review integrity of data bringing to the attention of relevant business departments areas of inferior data quality with recommendations on practical solutions to improve data quality.
- Review insightful monitoring of segment claims experience and key performance indicators.
- Perform and review statistical/actuarial methods to estimate:

- outstanding claim costs for use in the company’s regulatory and financial reporting;
- future claims costs; and
- profit margins.
- Develop and enhance mathematical/statistical models to solve complex business problems.
- Design and review tables depicting data for use by other Actuaries or business clients.
- Interpret tables or charts as part of research and integrate findings into analysis.
- Understand the legal and commercial environment and analyse impact on actuarial models and the suitability of model results.
- Formulate statistical/actuarial advice based on results of analysis and understanding of the environment.

**What you’ll bring**:

- 0-2 years relavent experience in general insurance or CTP.
- Proficiency in the use of relevant analytical tools and software (e.g. Excel, SQL, SAS etc.)
- Has detailed knowledge of key data sources and can investigate, reconcile and manipulate data for analysis.
- Clear methodical thinking
- Can work independently and manage multiple key tasks
