**Actuarial Analyst**

Suncorp Group are currently seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our Home Team within the Model Activate and Analytics team based in Sydney on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The role of Actuarial Analyst in the Model Activate & Analytics team within the Pricing & Analytics Department is to provide Pricing and Analytical service to both Consumer and Commercial Insurance business.

This position contributes to the Pricing & Analytics team's purpose of supporting the business to improve product profitability and the financial control of the insurance products. The team covers the pricing analytics work for both consumer and commercial line Insurance business.

**What you’ll do**:

- Work with Senior Actuarial Advisor to develop, recommend and implement pricing solution to achieve financial and non-financial business objectives.
- Use state-of-art internal Modelling Infrastructure to develop and enhance statistical and machine learning predictive models.
- Understand the end to end pricing ecosystems.
- This is essentially a problem-solving role. Whereas the appointee will have ample assistance on business aspects of the problem definition and possible solutions, the appointee may be required to address and solve the specific analytical and modelling aspects of problems.
- Pricing and Analytical advice to business customers is an important part of the role. This will require the appointee to have a good relationship with the internal customer team including being receptive to ad hoc queries and being able to translate technical advice to business value adding solution.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Experience with general insurance Analytical or Pricing related field of work would be valued but isn’t mandatory
- Mandatory: Demonstrated knowledge and experience within complex analytics and problem-solving.

- Highly Valued: Experience working in a similar role in the general insurance industry.
- Highly Valued: Experience working within an analytical role and/or using SAS, R, Python, SQL.
