**About the Company**
This NSW Government agency is a major service provider who strives to deliver a more consistent and efficient experience within government. This government agency uses data and behavioural insights to drive improvements with government and providing services to NSW. We are looking for someone to start ASAP on a 5 month contract paying between $50-$80 p/d + Super. This role is located in Sydney CBD.

**About the Role**
We are currently seeking to appoint a Legal Officer with a leading NSW Government agency.

Key accountabilities include:

- Provide high level legal services (advice, transactions and/or litigation) to NSW Trustee and Guardian and its clients in accordance with the law, policy, procedures and practice standards.
- Undertake legal and administrative matters and oversee the co-ordination of outsourced legal services in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Conduct litigation before Courts and/or Tribunals as the Department's representative.
- Interpret, analyse and prepare complex legal documents including legal records, correspondence, legislation, court orders, policies, reports, submissions, contracts, deeds and briefs to counsel.
- Undertake research, manage and provide advice on matters arising in NSW Trustee and Guardian’s areas of operation to ensure effective service delivery.
- Contribute to the development and review of legal standards and practices, policies, systems, procedures, manuals, precedents and processes; and development and delivery of training to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective and efficient professional services.
- Comply with practice management standards, policies and procedures, including accurately and contemporaneously recording time spent on legal work and preparing invoices.

**About You**
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Proven experience in providing legal services, including advice, transactions, and litigation
- Strong organisational skills to balance high volume workload and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex and technical concepts to various levels of stakeholders
- Proficiency in interpreting, analysing, and preparing complex legal and confidential documents
- Experience in adhering to legal policies and procedures whilst working within established standards and guidelines
- Experience in contributing to the development and responses to legal reviews, law reform proposals, and legal initiatives is valuable.
