The Hobart Clinic has been operating as a private mental health facility for more than 30 years. It has a hospital in Rokeby supporting inpatient care and day programs, along with doctors’ rooms in Hobart to support the provision of day programs. To establish itself as the leading private mental health provider in Tasmania, The Hobart Clinic wants to look beyond the current models and funding of mental health care and improve the efficiency of its current clinical and administrative operations to establish a strong foundation for the expansion of its services.

As CEO, you will design and implement innovative service strategies to meet the diverse needs of the growing number of people across Tasmania requiring access to mental health support. This may involve streamlining activities, developing a business model that supports the implementation of the strategic growth plan the CEO, Executive Team, and Board designs, enhancing existing relationships, exploring ways to offer virtual mental health services, and fostering an organisational culture underpinned by trust, respect, accountability and focused on the provision of the highest quality mental health care.

An innovative yet pragmatic leader, you are ideally a proven CEO with an entrepreneurial mindset who understands how to balance strategic and growth outcomes with managing organisational change and transformation. You preferably have demonstrated executive-level experience working with clinical and administrative staff and are able to relate to Boards in an open, honest and direct way as you innovate and grow the business together for the benefit of all employees and the community.

Your empathy, self-awareness, and strong negotiation skills will see you successfully manage relationships with government and other external stakeholders to drive The Hobart Clinic’s agenda forward. It would also be helpful if you have knowledge and understanding of current mental health policies and issues in Tasmania and Australia.
