**About the opportunity**:
We are looking for a Manager: Governance, to join our Governance, Risk, and Compliance team.

The Manager: Governance leads a small collaborative team responsible for delivering high-quality governance and control framework operations, compliance monitoring and reporting, and secretariat, administration and business support services.

With your keen eye for detail, ability to use initiative, and sound judgement you will regularly manage complex and highly sensitive projects and issues. You will also plan and deliver a range of initiatives, whilst managing a small team.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Alongside the Senior Manager: Risk, develop, manage and maintain the suite of enterprise-wide governance frameworks, policies and procedures.
- Work with key internal stakeholders and our third-party providers to coordinate the internal audit and assurance program.
- Actively model VAGO’s vision and values, demonstrating innovation, respect, accountability and collaboration while providing professional coaching and leadership to the Governance team.

**Key selection criteria**:

- **Attention to detail**: Ability to ensure data integrity through demonstrated attention to detail and quality data input.
- **Communication**:Strong communication and facilitation skills, including ability to tailor appropriately for a variety of key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prepare accurate, concise and well-positioned reports and briefing papers.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Manage, lead and deliver business improvement and transformation projects.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**: An influencer with excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills. Applies an appropriate sense of urgency and sensitivity to business needs, using an adaptive and professional approach.
- **Records Management**:Monitor and maintain records and content in VAGO’s key systems to ensure they are complete and reliable.
- **Operational Effectiveness**:Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably, using analytical skills and professional scepticism to reason through problems Demonstrates innovation and a focus on learning.
- **People-centric approach**:Actively leads by example, modelling collegiate, resilient and flexible work behaviours and fostering a sense of common purpose within a team.

**Qualifications and experience**:

- **Qualifications**: Tertiary qualifications in a field such as Business, Commerce, Governance, Project Management, Accounting, Social Sciences, Public Policy or similar.

**Additional information**:
When not working from home, this role is based at 35 Collins Street, Melbourne. Travel to various work locations throughout Victoria and Australia may be required.
