We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated
**Renewable Energy Development Manager **in
** NSW **to lead prospecting and project development. You will manage projects from concept through to construction, ensure statutory requirements are met and display excellence in stakeholder management. Your core area of expertise will be wind farm development, planning or engineering.

What You Will Do
- This role you will be part of a team creating innovation and excellence in renewable energy development including:

- Identification and assessment of utility-scale renewable generation and storage projects.
- Establishing and realising project development plans that ensure tightly controlled, successful opportunities are delivered for construction.
- Managing landholder relationships and negotiation of landowner agreements.
- Undertaking hazard and risk assessment, environmental, cultural and heritage impact studies, resource assessment, grid connection and project design activities in collaboration with the Grid, Engineering and Construction teams.
- Managing primary and secondary consents whilst ensuring project approvals reflect optimal design and flexibility such that shareholder value is maximised.
- Working with communities and stakeholders to ensure development success and excellence in community engagement.
- Developing project budgets and assessing project economics in collaboration with the Head of Commercial, and the construction and corporate finance functions.
- Business case preparation for consideration by the MD and board.
- Ensuring internal stakeholders understand project risks and are kept informed through use of effective ‘early warning’ and exception reporting systems.
- Supporting BayWa’s storage, hydrogen and ammonia strategy
- Adhering to company policies with a strong focus on the environment, and health and safety.

What You Bring
- Passion for creating positive change through renewable energy.
- Have a minimum 5 years’ current experience in wind farm development or a related field such as wind engineering, statutory planning, environmental planning.
- Tertiary qualification in planning, engineering, environmental science, or other relevant degree.
- Experience taking developments through statutory planning processes, including demonstrated understanding of the NSW planning processes for large scale renewable energy.
- A strong understanding of environmental approval legislation including the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and relevant state acts.
- Project management experience including managing budgets and timelines.
- Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
- Able to navigate a highly variable environment, solving complex problems and delivering solutions.
- Be a team player who approaches work with enthusiasm and is lifelong learner.
- Be willing to travel and capable of spending time walking and off-road driving on site.
