Camden Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sport & Recreation Planner Project Officer to join the team. This new role is responsible for planning and project management of quality open space master plans and projects prior to handover to Council's City Assets team for delivery.

The scale and diversity of projects reflects the current and future needs of the community and will play a pivotal role in shaping Camden Council's future.

**Essential**:

- Degree qualifications and relevant experience in Recreation, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning or equivalent related field
- Demonstrated relevant experience in sport and recreation planning and policy development
- Demonstrated experience in delivering passive and active recreation infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience in managing community and stakeholder engagement at various levels throughout the planning and design process
- Good analytical, creative thinking, negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills that lead to innovative and effective solutions in a changing environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills

**Desirable**:

- Experience delivering projects within a structured project management framework
- Experience in a local government environment
- Knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks
- Appropriate research, reporting and computer skills
- Demonstrated project and resource management skills
- Strong customer focus
- To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs._
