**About the role**:
Are you passionate about prioritising the experiences and voice of First Nations students and other diverse student groups in relation to bullying and cyberbullying in schools?
The Australian Schools Anti-Bullying Collective supports all Australian school communities with evidence-informed resources and activities to implement proactive approaches to bullying education and prevention.
The role of the Principal Policy Officer will be to provide expert advice and lead co-design projects relating to student-to-student bullying to inform the ongoing delivery of content for Bullying. No Way

**Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:

- Leading, modelling and maintaining culturally appropriate connection and work with Indigenous communities and Australian school students related to student-to-student bullying to support the design of resources and information to improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal students and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Develop strategies and work in partnerships with stakeholders to embed principles and strategies for effective education related to bullying prevention, in response to the needs of First Nations students and other student equity groups.
- Undertake ongoing research and analysis of contemporary education issues as they impact on students.
- Lead and maintain liaison, communication and coordination with key personnel in schools, regions and systems as well as in other Government departments and key stakeholders to develop coordinated implementation strategies in order to achieve required outcomes.
- Preparing briefing material, correspondence and reports for the Minister, senior departmental officers, government agencies and other entities on issues related to bullying and the Australian Schools Anti-Bullying Collective.

**About you**:
The successful applicant will have the following key attributes:

- Proven ability to liaise and work with Indigenous communities across various settings to ensure co-design and mutual obligations in an educational setting are identified and achieved;
- High level written and oral communication skills;
- Proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders;
- Sound knowledge of software that allows for the collation and extraction of data to support strategic directions;
- Ability to think strategically and present a range of solutions to complex issues;
- Demonstrated ability to gather information from a range of sources and undertake critical analysis;
- Experience in working on complex projects to achieve required outcomes within set timeframes;
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are highly encouraged to apply.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
