The COO/Business Manager will be responsible for Australia IB business management including reviewing overall performance and operations of the organization, monitoring financial performance, achieving recruitment and staffing objectives, supporting talent management and creating strategic goals for the group by understanding where growth opportunities exist.

**Key Responsibilities & Tasks**
- Acts as the Group Head’s right-hand person - helping to manage global day-to-day issues as well as keep the team aligned to one vision
- Supporting on initiatives such as: space planning, operations, client and internal events plus our senior advisor/NED program.
- Proactively leads financial and staffing projects (revenue forecasting, budget management, headcount planning, transaction tracking, reporting, share of wallet, etc.)
- Works closely with the group staffer
- Responsible for recruiting, in partnership with the relevant banker and HR
- Communicates financial information and strategic issues in a clear, concise, and relevant manner using the standard reports
- Assist the Group Head in coordinating client events and internal group meetings; submissions for Awards and proactively leads on team engagement initiatives
- Provides leadership, guidance, professional development, and mentoring for junior bankers
- Can articulate strategic goals of where the group should be thinking about growth opportunities
- Is collaborative, a team player and culture carrier and adheres to Jefferies’ code of ethics. A clear communicator who can provide strong partnership with teams in New York and Regionally as required
- Responsible for ensuring that all staff follow Jefferies’ policies and regulatory training and examination requirements
- Proactively resolves revenue shares with other groups and ensures that revenue attribution within the group is done thoughtfully
- Ensures that review documents are completed thoughtfully and completely
- Will be conversant in discussions about market share, league tables, and missed business opportunities
- Drafts the business plan document and is sufficiently respected that the group head wants them to be at the Group review meeting
- Demonstrates attention to detail on all deliverables

**Qualifications**
- 10+ years of experience in business management or COO roles within IB
- Experience managing complex financial forecast and headcount resources
- Demonstrated expertise in establishing and maintaining rigorous management discipline routines, processes, etc. Is responsive as issues arise
- Demonstrates an ability to influence across all level
- Demonstrates an ability to execute multiple priorities
- Exceptional work ethic, professional integrity, and emotional intelligence
- Self-motivated with an innate drive to succeed
- Passion to mentor and develop talent
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
