As a WHS and Facilities Manager, you will have primary responsibility for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of WHS Management required to meet statutory and organisational objectives as well as assure the effective functioning of a facility to provide an efficient and safe working environment for employees and their activities by using best business practices to manage resources, services and processes to meet the needs of the company.

**The key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to**:
WHS Manager
- Guide and support the Leadership Group to develop and implement a safety strategy and culture which aligns to the company vision
- provide a specialist advisory role and make timely decisions to provide guidance to managers & staff in the areas of risk & safety management to ensure compliance and good governance
- Investigate all causes of events on-site, recommend and implement actions/strategic advice to prevent future occurrences
- Maintain comprehensive safety records, robust risk management processes, manage statutory reporting requirements, and monitor safety performance progress
- Maintain an update-to-date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and company safety requirements to improve Seeing Machines compliance with WHS legislation in ACT and VIC
- Conduct systems audits, implement corrective actions, provide support and advice to continuously improve WHS performance
- Support the development of systems to monitor, track and report workplace injuries, near misses, and safety performance
- Lead, assist and ensure incident investigations are undertaken in a timely manner and effective in identifying root causes and suitable corrective actions

Facilities Manager
- develop and implement a facility management program including preventative maintenance and requirements
- conduct and document regular facilities inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency and coordinate intra-office moves
- supervise maintenance and repair of facilities and oversee facility refurbishment and renovations
- plan and manage facility central services such as physical security, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and parking
- obtain quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers and negotiate contracts to optimize delivery and cost saving
- manage and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met
- generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures and purchases
- respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures and assure security of the facility

About you
We value the breadth and depth of experience that our people bring to their work. Specifically, we are looking for people with:

- Tertiary qualifications in related field and/or extensive experience in WHS and Facilities Management
- Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
- Relevant experience in WHS training and coaching at various levels of an organization
- Experience in conducting operational risk assessments, ICAM investigations or similar
- Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation & policies and guidelines in WHS and risk management systems
- working knowledge of procurement and contracts
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary professional team
- Analytical and critical thinking skills - High attention to detail
- High level of independence in solving problems and using judgement
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and respond effectively to change
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders
