**What you'll be doing**:
The Mental Health Clinician of the Homelessness Mental Health Team will provide mental health assessments and interventions to a caseload of consumers experiencing homelessness who may present with a range of unmet needs. As required, this position will coordinate the provision of relevant mental health and support services for consumers. The role will be required to perform duties in accordance with recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practices and contribute to strengthening partnerships with mental health services and housing service providers.

This imperative role will see you actively participating in clinical review, case conferences, team meetings, in-services, and educational activities. As a team member, the role is expected to provide support and mentorship to key partnering stakeholders. You will see yourself working collaboratively with consumers and their families to identify goals for recovery and develop individual care plans. In addition, this role works together with Mental Health Inpatient Units, the Triage and Assessment Centre and Community Mental Health Teams to best support consumers experiencing homelessness.

**Selection criteria to be addressed**:

- Current registration as Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist Level 1/2 currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or for Social Workers eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Demonstrated experience in mental health assessments, providing care to people with mental health issues together with demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act and related legislation.
- Demonstrated reasoning skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as the ability to work effectively with service partners to support consumers’ recovery.
- An understanding of recovery orientated care with demonstrated ability to meaningfully collaborate with consumers and their family and carers regarding mental health service provision.
- Able to participate as a member of the team in quality improvement strategies, development of policies and procedures and clinical research.
- Computer competency including demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of information technology systems used in Health settings.
- Current unrestricted class C NSW driver’s licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
