Logistics Assistant

To help us deliver on our plans for 2024, we are looking for a Logistics Assistant to join our Event Operations team on a fixed-term basis until February 2024. As this role is seasonal, we request full availability and flexibility across the summer contracted period.
As the Logistics Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Logistics Coordinator and wider Logistics team by assisting with the daily operations and achieving long term goals. You will provide support with the delivery of all venue logístical requirements for the Australian Open (AO) and its associated facilities and off-site storage. You will work behind the scenes to ensure all logistics services are documented and all databases are consistently updated.
About the role
- Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator, In this role you will:_
- Support the Logistics Coordinator with any administrative tasks such as developing timelines, budgets, or reports
- Maintain all databases for logistics requirements
- Assist in preparing and communicating any venue logistics, warehousing, and related safety procedures
- Coordinate and communicate with suppliers to ensure stakeholder requirements are met
- Support the coordination of logistics for the site including, but not limited to, December Showdown, Bump in, AO Qualifying events, Charity event, AO Main Draw, Junior Tournament and Bump out
About you
- What you will bring to the role:_
- Administration and/or sports administration experience or similar
- Strong computer literacy with experience in the use of Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project
- Experience in databasing, budgeting, rostering and/or inventory/job management is desirable
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills and the ability to engage quickly with people from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds
- Proven administrative and organisational skills with a high attention to detail and ability to problem-solve
- Willingness to be flexible regarding working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
- Valid Construction Induction Card (or State or Territory equivalent) is required
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
