We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified teachers and practitioners of any of the following instrument categories:

Please note that AMEB (NSW) Examiners are generally expected to be able to examine multiple instruments within their instrument category.

You will be responsible for assessing students in accordance with the AMEB syllabus relevant to the specialist area and grading system. To be successful, applicants must have relevant professional qualifications and experience, excellent interpersonal and report writing skills, and be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the AMEB repertoire, syllabus requirements and regulations.

The role is an ongoing casual role, with shifts rostered according to assessment requirements. Examiners must make themselves available for a minimum of 20 days per year, covering both Sydney metro sessions (May - December). Availability to examine in regional areas is desirable. Examining hours are generally 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Saturday, but a minimum of five hours of availability on a weekday may be accepted.
- Appropriate qualifications such as a recognised degree or diploma or other qualification relevant to the specialist training area, or equivalent professional experience.
- Developed skills in teaching and demonstration of students’ examination successes.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
- Awareness of the AMEB syllabus relevant to the specialist area and grading system.
- Availability to examine throughout the year, attendance at the mandatory annual examiners’ meeting and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in every year of employment.
- Current Working with Children Check Clearance throughout period of casual employment.
