**About the role**:
The Transport Operations Manager - Metro
**(based in Ingleburn)** is a pivotal member of the Transport team and is responsible for effectively managing transport solutions within the Sydney Metropolitan area. The role is responsible for driving our strong safety culture, improvement, efficiency and capability of the transport operations function. The role is required to work closely with and branch operations network to monitor costs, ensure high vehicle utilisation and management of driver's labour, productivity and fleet costs.

- Lead our uncompromising Safety-First culture throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area and customer relationships
- Provide transport operations expertise, guidance and leading service to their respective Transport HUBs with a clear remit to drive the highest levels of safety standards, efficiency, profitability and cost saving with respect to the daily operational transport function
- Source the most cost-effective means of transportation for equipment to ensure maximum recovery of transport charges is achieved through Purchase Orders without impact to customer loyalty and satisfaction
- Working closely with Transport HUBs and Branch Operations teams to ensure all disputes relating to transport are addressed and resolved in a timely and effective manner. And where necessary, escalate to the Transport Manger NSW/ACT
- Monitoring driver hours and compliance with COR Fatigue requirements
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Manage the transportation requirements of large movements/projects
- Seek appropriate rates from contractors and quote other departments on transport costs for out of PAR rates movements

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification/s
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated results in improving safety culture through all aspects of the transport function
- Demonstrated experience in achieving operational excellence and influencing change
- Strong transport operations / logistics knowledge
- Strong knowledge of OHS & transport legislation and regulations.
- Quality compliance
