**Position Information**:
The Assistant Principal Learning and Support will be based at Marrickville Public School, travelling to and liaising with 21 schools in the Marrickville Network.

Marrickville Public School was established in 1864 and has a current enrolment of 239 students.

The Assistant Principal Learning and Support will:

- Provide professional support to learning and support teachers, travelling between worksites to support schools.
- Provide professional specialist advice and assistance to schools within the network to support students with additional learning and support needs.
- Facilitate access for learning and support teachers and communities of schools to professional learning, skills training, current research and educational technology.
- Support schools in the development and implementation of adjusted educational programs for students with additional learning and support needs.
- Liaise with the Arncliffe Office personnel to ensure coordinated delivery for students with additional learning and support needs.
- Provide specialist consultancy advice to support classes in regular schools and Schools for Specific Purposes.
- Anticipated starting day is Day 1 Term 2, 2023

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (primary and/or secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
- Capacity to promote specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs.
- Demonstrated capacity to work to develop and implement innovative programs that supports students from a diverse range of backgrounds and needs.
- Demonstrated capacity to coordinate and deliver professional learning and support in schools, across a variety of educational settings.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant disability legislation, Department of education policies and the Inclusive, Engaging and Respectful Schools Package.
- Demonstrated ability to work collegially to promote and support the development of effective and collaborative learning support teams within schools.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
