As the **Recycle Yard Operator**, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment including a forklift, to process recyclable materials efficiently and safely.

Egan’s specialises in commercial office furniture solutions across Australia. We work with Government, Corporate, and Tertiary clients to provide innovative, sustainable solutions in the form of relocation, recycle, remanufacture and resale. Our Wise Office Furniture Program is a best-practice circular economy model dedicated to achieving remarkable landfill avoidance and resource recovery outcomes and is proven to deliver best practice outcomes across the country.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Sort, separate, and process recyclable materials including plastics, paper, metals, and glass.
- Monitor and ensure the quality of processed materials to meet industry standards.
- Collaborate with the relevant team to optimise yard operations and workflow.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, promoting safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Keep accurate records of processed materials and contribute to production reports.

**Qualifications**:

- A valid truck license **(preffered)**
- A valid forklift license.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and previous experience within office furniture would be advantageous
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- A good level of physical fitness to engage in hands on processing of recycled furniture.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual

**Salary**: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- West Footscray, VIC 3012: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
