**THE ROLE**

As a member of management, you are responsible for assisting with the operation, management (leadership), training and success of the store. You are expected to have a clear focus on exceeding customer’s expectations of service and lead by example. We call this customer obsession. It is essential that you convey a friendly and inviting manner with a “can do” energetic nature.

You are responsible for giving direction, advice, and guidance to the crew in conjunction with store leadership. This direction will enable each crew member to perform in a manner which ensures that the store contributes the maximum possible sales, profit, and customer satisfaction. This is achieved within a friendly, fun, and exciting environment where crew are professional but relaxed and thrive on working collectively as a team.

The role of Captain in Training/Assistant Captain is a pathway into store leadership. You are not expected to immediately understand all aspects of the job, but you are expected to develop the skills and understanding as you progress in the role. The commitment to training works both ways with Shiploads and you taking equal responsibility to develop the skills required for the role.

**THE PERSON**

You will need to be passionate about retail, gaining satisfaction from successfully assisting the Shiploads’ crew to deliver exceptional customer obsession.

You will need to display a high standard of personal presentation where you move and act with purpose.

You should enjoy not only your own work but take pride in the work of your crew around you and celebrate the results of your ship.

**SELECTION CRITERIA - please respond to each criteria**

1. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a broad cross-section of people, most importantly, our customers.

2. A high level of energy, initiative, self-motivation, and discipline, together with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

3. A caring nature with the ability to perform duties and assist customers with genuine friendliness.

4. An ability to perform tasks effectively and efficiently with a demonstrated level of understanding of Shiploads mojo.

5. Ability to manage peak work periods and work well under pressure.

6. A high level of personal presentation.

7. Excellent time management and proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are met.

8. Good mathematical ability in a retail context.

9. A high level of attention to detail.

10. Available to work hours incorporating seven-day trade and attend after hours when required, such as emergency situations.

11. A passion for retail and a passion for providing customer obsession.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $63,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
