About Us
The Property, Development and Commercial Services (PDCSO) team at Murdoch University manages a physical environment which is consistent with both the Murdoch University Campus Master Plan and Strategic Plan and supports all facets of University activities in the field of infrastructure and capital project planning to meet future growth, support services to meet the University’s strategic and academic goals, and a safe and responsive environment for students, staff, and the community.
The Role
The University Space Planner is responsible for strategic and operational space management, as well as supporting the delivery of transformative feasibility work to facilitate world class research and focused teaching and learning spaces to align with the University Strategic Plan.
- Space planning,
- Asset management,
- Master planning,
- Campus activation,
- Building information systems,
- Feasibility and brief development of new capital projects,
- Cases for justifying submissions for federal and state jurisdiction,
- Preparation of cases for planning approval from state and local government.
What you’ll bring to this role
- Tertiary qualification in planning, architecture/design, engineering or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and training.
- Skills in consultation and upfront brief development for capital projects.
- Understanding of and experience in the delivery of physical student learning environments.
- Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to present complex data in a concise and understandable manner.
- Excellent strategic thinking skills: with strong asset strategy development experience across capital works and planned and preventative maintenance with environment and sustainability requirements and knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Strong record of success in the delivery and management of strategy and planning activities in a large and complex environment; with exposure to asset life-cycle planning and management to deliver outcomes.
