Foster House provides safe and secure crisis accommodation for adult men experiencing homelessness.

The Homelessness Team Member works alongside other Homelessness Team volunteers including a Team Leader to engage homeless people and those at risk of homelessness to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

- Demonstrates self-awareness:
Presents a demeanour that is appropriate to work setting and role
- Manages personal stress
- Keeps control of own emotions and remains calm in the face of challenging situations. Displays an optimistic approach to volunteer role
- Adopts a service-orientated attitude to all - Develops a positive relationship with people based on empathy, respect, generosity and fairness. Demonstrates a commitment to social justice principles working with disadvantaged people in the community
- Cooperates for joint outcomes - Engages and contributes to team activities
- Improves WHS & Addresses risks to safe work practices - Escalates issues when these are identified

Collaborative Works collaboratively with staff in complex and diverse work environments.

Focused Is committed to, and acts for, the well-being of service users; demonstrates a commitment to social justice principles working with disadvantaged people in the community.

Resilient Displays an optimistic approach to work; Remains calm, focused and maintains perspective when faced with change, crisis and difficulty; is flexible to respond to changing needs.

Ethical Demonstrates a willingness to work in accordance with TSA’s mission, vision and values; Is compliant at all times with TSA Official Minute (Policy) and Procedures; Demonstrates a high level of integrity; is reliable and trustworthy; Reflects expected standards of behaviour and codes of conduct at all times.

- The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation and is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. All child related roles will require the successful completion of a Working with Children Check. _Additionally, certain volunteer roles may require a National Police Check._
