We are seeking an Environmental Planner to join our Environmental Team.

**The Challenge**

As the Environmental Planner, you will be responsible for delivering key elements of Hunter Water's Environmental Management System including provision of environmental planning and technical support, coordination of environmental improvement projects, waste management, and environmental reporting.

**What you’ll do**:

- Technical and project management support related to specific environmental issues such as land management, waste, sustainable procurement and land contamination
- Environmental reporting with a focus on waste management, greenhouse gas emission reporting and implementation of the corporate EMP
- Project manage EMS improvement projects

**What you’ll need to be successful**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Science discipline OR equivalent suitable professional qualifications
- Experience in the development and implementation of environmental policies and strategies
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to influence others
- Well-developed analytical and innovation skills with the ability to deliver change and business improvements
- Commitment to continuous personal development

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience in land contamination and natural resource management including land restoration.
- Working knowledge of environmental legislation that is applicable to water utility activities and operations
