Join a dynamic and innovative Department as the EL1 Level Communication Team Leader and become an integral part of a brand new team during this exhilarating phase. This is a remarkable opportunity to collaborate closely with various communication teams and branches across the Department, fostering a highly collaborative environment.

As an EL1 Level Communication Team Leader, you will lead the development and implementation of communication and engagement strategies for key departmental projects and initiatives. You will provide high-level communication advice to senior management and business areas, while also managing and planning the activities of your team. Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be crucial, and you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of communication support including strategy development, issues management, event management, reputation management, and online content creation.

**Responsibilities (including but not limited to)**:

- Under limited supervision, lead the development and implementation of communication stratergies for key departmental projects and initiatives with the support of your own team.
- Provide high-level communication, engagement, and issues management advice to senior management and business areas.
- Assist the Director in team management and team planning.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide a broad range of communication support including strategy development, issues management, event management, reputation management, and media liaison.

**Requirements**:

- Prior government experience is essential.
- Tertiary qualifications in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or Journalism, or possession of recognised skills or significant relevant experience in these fields is highly desired.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies.
