**About the company**
Our client is a highly regarded Australian-owned leading defence industry skilling and consulting service. With a niche portfolio of integrated solutions that develop support, and fast-track operational capabilities on behalf of Military, Government and Commercial clients.

**About the role**
As the Payroll and Accounts Officer, you will support the Finance Director in managing the day-to-day financial and transactional responsibilities of the organisation while maintaining accurate financial records. You will be responsible for:

- Accounts receivable
- Staff expense claims
- Travel expense reconciliations and client billing
- Invoicing
- End of month processes
- General Ledger coding
- End-to-end fortnightly payroll for 40 employees across various states
- Data entry
- Credit card reconciliations
- Accounts Payable
- PAYG & Super contributions

**About you**
You will have previous accounts/bookkeeping and payroll experience in a small to medium sized company, with strong customer service and communication skills. You have a pleasant communication style and demeanor and work well with others.

You will also have:

- Ability to manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail
- Mature approach with an outgoing personality
- Display initiative and be proactive in your approach to tasks
- Excellent time management skills
- Previous experience with RECKON or other accounting packages
- Strong MS Word & Excel
