**Role**:
Position has a broader management responsibility, in the area of facilities management.

There will be a high level of independence and accountability for the delivery of professional services and achievement of objectives at this level.

An Education Support position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

Attendance (additional) requirement for this position is fulltime and during School Holiday periods. You will be paid a leave purchase allowance for that attendance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for maintaining the site in a good state of repair and appearance including but not limited to essential services, air conditioning, heating, electrical, plumbing, pest control, painting, concreting, engineering, glazing, carpenters, asbestos audits, departmental inspections in all buildings and facilities, pathways, grounds and gardens
- Undertake maintenance and repairs within capability; respond effectively and maintain log of works; taking a ‘hands on’ role with tasks which will include: removal of graffiti, cleaning and deliveries and responding to service requests from staff
- Maintain all equipment, tools and plant in a safe and good condition; liaising with external suppliers and services where necessary.
- Maintain the school grounds to a high standard including garden beds.
- Manage all contractors on site, ensuring all health and safety requirements are met, monitor performance and inspect completed work.
- Undertake routine inspections of the site, including regular maintenance checks.
- Maintain records of all works undertaken.
- Undertake and document a timely risk assessment of site and other risk assessments (health and safety checks as directed by the Principal & School Leaders
- Manage maintenance requirements and budgets using Department systems eg. AIMS
- Attend OH&S meeting and other meetings as required.
- Regularly inspect all drains for blockages, remedying as necessary.
- Regularly inspect all sumps/gutters on roofs for blockages, remedying as necessary.
- Regularly visually inspect outside areas for defects and potential hazards including condition of boundaries, fencing, building exteriors and trees.
- Ensure the buildings are locked and unlocked at appropriate times.
- Regularly check fire equipment and liaise with fire and security contractors for servicing and repairs.
- Care and maintenance of the swimming pool, ordering of chemicals, cleaning and water testing, which may also include weekend callouts.
- Commit to the growth and maintenance of a positive risk management culture within the school; assisting staff where necessary.
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment
- Responsible for maintaining four school owned buses in accordance with the registration requirements of Transport Safety Victoria.
- Assist with (supervised) senior students in work experience programs.
- Current driver's licence and Working with Children essential and heavy vehicle licence required
- Other duties relevant to the field as directed by the Business Manager or Principal
