**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Human Resources this position plays a critical role in supporting the Hester Hornbrook Academy an entity of the Melbourne City Mission Group. The position provides high-quality HR and ER leadership and to the Hester Hornbrook Academy team and Executive Principle to build strategic workforce capacity. This role will partner with senior leadership to develop and implement effective HR policies and practices that will support the strategic growth of Hester Hornbrook Academy. The successful applicant will offer thought leadership regarding organisational and people-related strategy and execution. The role will support, mentor and coach leaders on performance management, disciplinary issues and investigations.
The Business Partner will provide whole of school focused, people leadership and practical interpretation of employment legislation, participate in EBA negotiations and provide tailored advice specific to an educational environment
**About you**:
We are seeking someone with:
- Demonstrated experience of employee relations and change management to support, mentor and coach the Hester Hornbrook Executive and Senior Leadership Teams through performance management and investigations
- Demonstrated ability to set and aligns the workforce talent strategy with the Hester Hornbrook Strategic Plan and Master Plan for Growth
- Practical working knowledge of employment legislation, Award and Agreement interpretation
- Experience supporting enterprise agreement negotiations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide data and strategic insights
- Proven ability to grow leadership capability and confidence to enable effective people management in a growing organisational environment.

**Essential**:
- Tertiary qualifications in a HR or a related discipline and/or relevant professional employee/industrial relations experience in an equivalent role.
- Substantial employee relations experience including case management, investigations, EBA negotiations and representing employers at commissions for industrial relations matters.
- Substantial generalist HR knowledge and experience in providing advisory services.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret enterprise agreements, awards and employment legislation as it interacts with workforce management and employee relations.
- Change management and project management capability as it relates to leading and influencing the people impacts of change.
- The ability to translate and implement organisational strategies and initiatives across a multi camps educational environment.
