**About the opportunity**

An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent full time position as a Data & Reporting Analyst within the Forensic & Analytical Science Service Integrations Science team. You will be working with varied services, data sources and stakeholders to improve workflows and support decision-making for communications, policy, resource deployment and legislation. You will be involved in performance reporting and developing forensic and health intelligence products to help predict and prevent public health and safety threats.

We offer a flexible working environment based on individual/business requirements including a 9 day fortnight.

You'll be based at the NSW Forensic & Analytical Science Services located at Lidcombe but also visit our other sites at Newcastle, Wollongong and North Ryde.

**What you'll be doing**

The primary purpose of the role is the provision of data analysis and reporting support services for Forensic & Analytical Science Service (FASS) including developing, implementing, and maintaining a range of key data analytics and reporting functions. The position assists FASS executive and management staff in administering strategic and operational decision making in addition to overall FASS service performance delivery to key stakeholders
- Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Information Management, Information Technology, Statistical Analysis and/or Science.
- Highly developed prioritisation, organisational and time management skills with a proven ability to work independently and unsupervised to meet strict deadlines in a challenging environment.
- Advanced problem solving skills with the ability to effectively troubleshoot technical and data integrity issues as they arise
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to liase with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and understand business requirements to develop comprehensive professional reports from strategic, business, customer and technical perspectives
- Proven data interpretation and analytical skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions in a changing and complex environment
- Demonstrated experience and/ of Laboratory Information Systems, experience in querying SQL databases, familiarity with VBA and Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI
- Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence
