The Role
- Reporting into the Privacy & Regulatory Affairs Manager, this role will play an essential role in ensuring global compliance with telecommunications and data privacy laws for Megaport. You will work primarily with Privacy & Regulatory Affairs Manager and engage with other key internal stakeholders to develop, implement and maintain a compliance framework, to ensure that Megaport is conducting its business in compliance with all relevant laws, while meeting its business goals (with particular focus on the Telecommunications and Privacy sectors).
- What You’ll Be Doing- Proactively audit processes, practices and documents-
- Evaluate business activities to assess compliance risk-
- Monitor global privacy and telecommunications regulations, laws and best practices, and advise management on updates- Educate and train employees (group presentations and 1-on-1)- Preparing responses to internal and external requests for information- Maintaining compliance registers- Assisting with compliance reporting- Assisting with policies and procedures management- Providing administrative support to the Privacy & Regulatory Affairs team

What We Are Looking For- At least 2 years experience working as a paralegal or related field- Experience in Data Privacy or related compliance function, focused on risk management.- Foundational knowledge of the telecommunications industry and existing privacy and data protection laws and regulations in Australia, EU and/ or USA is preferable- Sufficient knowledge of information technology and data management systems- Experience with Google suite of products (i.e. docs, sheets) as well as Microsoft suite of products (i.e. word, excel)- Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the business- Advanced analytical and research skills, with strong attention to detail- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion- Excellent writing and communication skills- The ability to manage time well, prioritise effectively and handle multiple deadlines under pressure- The statements contained in this position description are not necessarily all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned and requirements may vary from time to time.
