**The opportunity**

Bupa is looking for an experienced Strategic People Partner to join our Optical business on a 12-month fixed term contract.

As a Strategic People Partner in Optical, your main focus is to enable business leaders to effectively manage and deliver the people strategy. To succeed in this role, you need strong business partnering experience with excellent stakeholder management, the ability to look at all people-related matters from a holistic point of view, coach and enable leaders to be successful people leaders and have an empathetic approach to HR.

The role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide with flexible work arrangements available. We would also be open to the role being part-time (4 days per week).

**How will I help?**

Key accountabilities include:

- Truly business partner with our stakeholders and take accountability for the effective delivery of people strategies including aligning performance, capability, engagement and talent initiatives to the business.
- Provide guidance and advice to line managers based on in depth understanding of the area you are supporting and the broader business strategy
- Partner with leaders to develop engagement initiatives with a commercial mindset and passion for continuous improvement and innovation
- Effective management of employee relations cases
- Actively support leaders with all People cyclical initiatives such as the annual review process and People Pulse
- Support the Head of People to deliver people plans which address the strategic and operational business needs and aligned to the overall people strategy

**What do I need?**
- Extensive HR business partnering experience partnering with a variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex end to end ER cases
- Strong operational experience with a hands-on approach to HR but also the ability to think strategically and be proactive in providing tailored solutions to your client groups
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to connect with people to understand their issues and problem solve accordingly
- Experience in generalist HR including but not limited to leadership capability, operational HR delivery, employee retention, talent management etc.
