**Communications Support Officer**

**About the Role**
School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW) is responsible for the development of new school buildings, major upgrades, and effective maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school.

Your role as the Communications Support Officer is to provide administrative support services to facilitate the effective operation of the unit.

**The role will require you to**:

- Provide a range of administrative support services, including the maintenance of shared mailboxes, systems and registers and other general administrative duties, to support the effective functioning and operation of the unit.
- Collect and compile information and prepare documentation and correspondence in line with SINSW requirements to support information flow and inform decision making.
- Complete routine systems-based financial transactions including the raising and receipting of purchase orders and payment processing to ensure compliance with SINSW and agency processes, procedures and standards.
- Provide a range of meeting support services including preparation of agendas, meeting and event coordination, and the writing and distribution of minutes to contribute to the efficient conduct of meetings.
- Administer and maintain records management systems and processes to ensure that all information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible.
- Respond to internal and external enquiries, and escalate or redirect issues as required, to ensure the provision of accurate information.

**About You**
- Has a flexible and proactive mindset, showcasing the ability to respond swiftly to changes in direction and priorities.
- Is a self-directed and highly motivated individual who can take initiative and drive projects forward independently.
- Has demonstrated experience in Sharepoint with a proficiency in managing large team directories and file structures to facilitate seamless sharing and collaboration.
- Has proven experience in basic office administration, including a strong command of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, promoting effective collaboration within the team and across departments.
- Is proficient in using Google Suite tools to enhance communication and productivity.

**Essential Requirements**
- A valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment
- Tertiary qualification in Business (Administration) or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- Ability to travel to outer suburban and regional locations and work outside of core business hours in the evening and on weekends, as required.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the value of public education

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Experience in providing high quality, customer focused administrative support in a fast paced, collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding theDepartment’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
