The **_Strategic Infrastructure Planning Department_** takes a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to developing long term infrastructure strategies, plans, policies and standards to guide sustainable infrastructure provision for our communities, both current and future. The Department’s program is developed to create an innovative approach to integrate planning across Council’s open space, community infrastructure, transport, water cycle (including flood mitigation) and coastal infrastructure networks in a financial, social and environmentally sustainable and resilient manner.

**Key projects** for the Department currently include maintaining and amending the Local Government Infrastructure Plan, developing a Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy, Integrated Transport Strategy, Open Space Plan, Community & Cultural Places Plan, Integrated Water Management Plan as well as undertaking the infrastructure planning to support Council’s growth areas such as Caboolture West and Morayfield South.

**About the Opportunity**:
As our **_Principal Strategic Infrastructure Planner - Flooding and Drainage _**you will provide specialist infrastructure planning expertise, lead and support the development and delivery of complex strategic infrastructure planning projects and services for Council’s flood mitigation and drainage infrastructure networks within a flood risk management framework.

You will undertake the development and delivery of long-term, regional infrastructure planning, strategies and policy having regard to relevant statutory, policy and financial provisions and Council direction to drive integrated and sustainable planning outcomes.

Another key responsibility will be to undertake complex flooding and drainage infrastructure network planning, master planning, costing and prioritisation for key planning projects including the Local Government Infrastructure Plan and Growth Areas Management program and the provision of strategic advice in accordance with legislative, policy and business requirements.

As a part of this role you will undertake the development and delivery of flooding and drainage infrastructure strategies and policy to support the development of major developments and high growth areas to meet business needs and community expectations.

**About you**:
We are seeking someone who has extensive experience in complex flooding and drainage infrastructure planning, strategy and policy development activities, experience in project management and in the delivery of complex infrastructure planning and policy projects and knowledge of infrastructure outcomes for local government infrastructure networks, urban form and financial sustainability.

You will have experience in development and maintenance of WBMN and TUFLOW models and providing strategic advice in line with local government legislation, flooding and drainage planning principles and best practices.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Your written capability will be well refined with practiced skills to develop and deliver technical reports and proposals in a clear and concise manner.
