**About the role**:
Provide high level administrative support, reporting and coordination to Melbourne Prosecutions Unit, Prosecutions Court Branch, and the Director of Legal Services Department across a range of management functions, including human resources, process and procedure compliance, records, risk, and reporting to contribute to the Departments organisational vison, mission, and business objectives. Liaise and coordination support on behalf of Melbourne Prosecutions and Prosecutions Court Branch on judicial proceedings and ensure processes and procedures are compliant. This role will require the ability to manage a team of VPS staff and work effectively in a team environment alongside sworn staff to facilitate the strategic management of the Unit, Branch and Department, whilst reporting to the Inspector of Melbourne Prosecutions Unit.

**Your duties will include**:

- Manage, roster and task all administrative staff at Melbourne Prosecutions Unit.
- Manage and supervise all tasking this includes:

- Numerous large court lists.
- Large volumes of Incoming and outgoing briefs of evidence for Melbourne Courts.
- BMS recording, UAT testing and support.
- Administration and bail PBEA's.
- Incoming and outgoing mail via TOLL.
- Development and welfare of team.
- Oversee students and interns.
- Asset and IT management.
- Building support and coordination.
- Prosecutions Court Branch SharePoint accesess and support.
- High level Directors reports and oversight of State-wide administration resources.
- Reporting and Statistics for Melbourne Prosecutions Unit - Contests, warrant cancellations and withdrawal compliance.

**As the successful applicant, you will have**:

- To perform a range of business management functions which include an extensive administrative responsibility to court requirements, business plans, reporting and risk management.
- A strong understanding of project management to ensure an ability to coordinate and deliver projects in a timely manner and ensure the accurate processing of extremely high volumes of work with strict timeframes.
- Develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills to be able to provide comprehensive and reliable advice to Unit/Division and Department on emerging issues and trends to assist in address solutions.
- Proven ability to supervise, train and motivate administration staff and sworn police prosecutors to work successfully and effectively as a team alongside sworn management.
- Experience in working with highly sensitive and confidential or classified information.

**Requirements and relevant information**:

- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Melbourne Prosecutions Unit, Prosecutions Court Branch, Legal Services Department at Level 8/456 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne Victoria.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
- As a member of the Legal Services Department, you will be located, on selection, at a specific office within a Division for a particular advertised opportunity. However, given occasional legal service demand issues you may be required at times to undertake varied work within the Department. This supports the Departments commitment to a flexible and deployable legal workforce and professional development opportunities in a range of legal domains.
