HR & Payroll Manager
Sydney - Eastern Suburbs

Permanent Role - Full Time
**Salary**: $120,000 - $130,000 + Super

In-office role - 5 days per week on-site

Our client is looking to hire a motivated and organised HR & Payroll Manager with excellent attention to detail, a background in payroll, and a desire to get involved in wider HR matters. This is a really exciting hybrid role, with the opportunity to have significant input and to manage a team of 2.

Although a background in payroll is mandatory, it would be advantageous to also have experience in HR support too - anyone with a mixed background of HR & Payroll would be extremely highly regarded. Plus any involvement in HRIS implementation/migration or Project Management would be great also.

**Your Area of Responsibilities**:
**HR Support**:
Assist as required with the completion of People & Culture activities including recruitment, contract generation, leave management, employee on-boarding and off
- boarding processes.
Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Maintain a good understanding of applicable awards and employment legislation and providing advice on award interpretation and changes.
Support P&C team with the following types of activities on an ad-hoc basis:
Annual Salary Reviews for MEA and Award staff
Preparation and maintenance of Role Descriptions
HRIS migration project support
Prepare reports & analyses on HR and/or Industrial Relations matters
Collate exit interview, statistical data and identify trends and issues

**Payroll duties**:
Ensure all operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities, including salary disbursement, overpayment recovery, leave management and reporting are accurate and delivered within appropriate timeframes, and comply with relevant legislation.
Maintain the College’s payroll database - (currently Synergetic), on a current and accurate basis.
Create and maintain employee records, ensuring that employee costs are correctly coded and expensed within the designated cost centre ensuring seamless integration reconciliation with general ledger.
Assist the Finance Business Partner to meet the College’s taxation, superannuation and other legislative and statutory obligations.

**Your Profile**:
Extensive payroll experience.
Experience dealing with differing shift patterns, contracts and hours.
Experience with HRIS systems.
People management experience.
Working knowledge of Payroll reporting, including Census, Budget, Single Touch Payroll (STP), WGEA, FBT and Leave accruals/liabilities.
Experience in the administration of HR processes and some understanding of employment legislation.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Very strong written and verbal communication with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
High level of proficiency with excel.
Any rem & bens experience would be highly regarded.
