Communications and Patient Engagement Lead

We are looking for an experienced Communications professional who can bring their business-partnering skills to this high-touch, impactful position, working closely with some of our key franchises, including Neuroscience.
- Your Responsibilities:

- Your role will provide strategic brand communications counsel, lead the development and implementation of communication plans for brands as a strategic business partner to franchises - identifying and creating communication opportunities and managing brand communication issues that arise.
- This position has both internal and external responsibilities, so also includes creating and managing appropriate relationships with patients, patient organisations and related stakeholders, as they relate to the priorities of the business, and ensuring their voice is heard within the organisation. The role will support the evolution of the patient centric approach in Australia, capturing and embedding patient insights across our activities, providing counsel to the business.
- Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- In partnership with global and regional communications, co-create strategic communications and patient engagement strategies aligned to Novartis Pharmaceuticals ANZ business priorities
- Manage agencies and budgets, track progress, ensure deadlines are met, and ensure quality and compliance in communication materials
- Act as the voice of patients to highlight patients’ needs and opinions to the management team and customer facing functions, medical, marketing & sales
- Create & manage relationships with patients & patient organisations as they relate to the priorities of the business
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to identify and run projects where patient insights are required and help to support execution of these projects

**Minimum requirements**
- What you’ll bring to the role:
Superior communication skills with experience in development and implementation of brand communications plans, preferably in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry
- Patient advocacy and engagement experience and understanding will be highly advantageous
Understanding of the broader healthcare environment, with excellent stakeholder management skills
Ideally you will have both agency and client side experience with a strong influencing ability
Cross-functional exposure in a matrix-style organisation is desirable with a high level of learning agility
Knowledge of innovative and progressive communication strategy methods and channels, including social media
Tertiary Qualifications in Communications, PR or another relevant area will be highly regarded
- This is a contract role until November 2023, based in Sydney. Considerations in relation to part-time may be considered.
