**About the team**
College Services provides academic administration and technical support services to the University’s schools, including Heads of School, academic staff and research students. The team is committed to providing effective and efficient services in support of the Schools’ and University’s strategic objectives, with a focus on continuous improvement and best practice. The Schools Operations team provides academic support services and general administrative support to the University’s Schools.
**About the opportunity**
As the appointee you will, under broad direction, provide senior administrative support for the delivery of teaching administration services for units of study across a range of Schools. You will manage a team, providing excellent client focussed teaching and unit support services to unit coordinators and academic teaching staff.
- Coordinate the provision of timetabling, class allocation, exams and other teaching support services to a defined set of units/disciplines
- Coordinate the delivery of administrative support to areas of responsibility
- Plan, implement and coordinate activities and initiatives across Teaching operations, in collaboration with School Operations leadership
- Supervise a team of staff, providing training and development opportunities in collaboration with the broader School Operations team
- Work collaboratively with the broader School Operations team and leadership to document and maintain policies, processes, systems and work practices for the effective and efficient delivery of support services, and assist with continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage administrative support for the area of responsibility, including managing the flow of business through an office, monitoring workflows, and assigning priorities, and supporting resource planning and allocation
- Respond to complex and detailed enquiries, using judgement and initiative, analyse and provide innovative solutions
- Provide authoritative advice and information on policies and procedures
- Other duties as directed
**About you**
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
- Substantial and extensive relevant senior administrative experience at an appropriate level
- Proven ability to respond to complex and diverse enquiries, reliably interpreting policy and procedures to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and consultation skills
- Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to supervise a team and provide career progression and development
- Demonstrated ability to provide academic support in a higher education setting
- Commitment to providing a high level of quality customer service
