**About the role**

In our Sydney office, we have an excellent opportunity for a motivated senior Legal Secretary to join Commercial Dispute Resolution and Litigation team. Working in a full time capacity, you will proactively support one partner and a small team of lawyers along with providing additional overflow support to our current fabulous senior secretarial team.

In this role you will have exposure to a diverse range of litigation matters. There is plenty of variety in this role with the key responsibilities and duties being:

- Liaising with clients and fee earners at all levels
- Assisting with preparation of court documents & counsel briefs
- Lodging documents with various courts and tribunals, scheduling conferences and mediations
- Proof reading, assisting with preparing correspondence and legal documents
- Edits and amendments including track changes/mark ups and formatting
- Opening and closing of matters including file archiving
- Processing credit card expenses
- Time recording, preparation of bills and processing of monthly billing
- Inputting and maintaining client data into our CRM software (InterAction)
- Printing, scanning and copying and
- General administrative duties.

We work in a hybrid way at Maddocks, with at least 3 days of our week in the office, and also have wider flexible working arrangements, whether that's hours, place of work or the leave you take. We welcome the opportunity to talk to you about working flexibly.

**About you**

You will be driven, flexible and confident working autonomously with mínimal supervision or instruction. You are someone who can maintain ownership of their role and be proactive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. An interest in paralegal type work and a willingness to learn will see you succeed in this role.

In addition to this, ideally you will have:

- At least 3 years’ Legal Secretarial experience in private practice
- Excellent secretarial skills including knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Word, Power Point and Excel spreadsheet skills
- Litigation experience is highly regarded
- Previous experience with end to end billing, knowledge of Aderant Expert is highly regarded
- A sharp eye for detail & excellent interpersonal skills;
- Strong typing skills, resourceful & well organised.
