**Role Description/Criteria**

At Bethany we hold the care, safety and well being of children as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school.

We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable and skilled Catholic Identity and Mission Leader POL 3. Ideally, this would be for the beginning of the 2023 school year, however the date to begin may be negotiated. Applicants will possess the skills and abilities necessary to provide students, staff and the school community with a rich and rewarding faith filled educational experience and will embrace a collaborative approach to leading the faith formation and religious education of all.

The Catholic Identity and Mission Leader will continue to grow the Catholic and religious identity of the school, supporting staff to understand their role in expressing their Catholic identity and their call to build a community of faith, based on lived and shared Gospel values. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong knowledge of the Religious Education Framework, ensuring the implementation of a rigorous curriculum design that engages staff and students in the deep faith questions of life through rich, relevant and meaningful learning and assessment. They will also be required to organise opportunities for families to participate in faith formation centred on the sacramental life of the school.

The Position of Leadership (POL 3) has a two year duration (2023-2024), with the opportunity to reapply. This is a significant role in our school community and as such has an FTE of 1.0. Please see the job description attached.

In addition, successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

**Special Requirements**
- accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School or a commitment to obtain accreditation
- current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
