**The role**

If this sounds like you, then our Account Manager roles could just be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Along with our team of Account Managers, you'll play an important role in managing relationships with existing accounts whilst also undertaking sales activities to generate Corporate, Entertainment, Association and Government business for the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) in line with event and revenue targets., helping us create remarkable experiences. We've adopted and embraced an agile way of working across the organisation where you'll be part of project teams (called squads), creating value-add solutions for our customers.

**What you're here to do**
- Utilise commercial acumen to effectively manage and further develop a portfolio of accounts across a wider cross section of market segments to retain and increase business and revenue for MCEC
- Prepare, present, and follow up customer request for proposals (RFPs)
- Undertake detailed site inspections of MCEC for customers, key stakeholders, and industry partners
- Contribute to and participate in a range of sales strategies and activities, includingsales calls, tradeshows, customer, and industry networking events
- Managing and maintaining the data integrity of MCEC's CRM
- Source new business opportunities for MCEC
- Direct and supervise the Sales Coordinators - in conjunction with the Manager - Corporate & Entertainment, to ensure all standards and procedures are being followed as per company standards and deadlines are being met.
- Effectively manage and further develop a portfolio of corporate, entertainment, association, and government accounts across a wide cross section of market segments to retain and increase business and revenue.
- Implement Strategic Account Management for a set portfolio of accounts including establishing productive, professional relationships with key personnel and proactively assessing, clarifying, and validating customer needs on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure all existing and rotational business is retained for MCEC.
- Achieve annual revenue targets.

**You**

You're a confident, motivated, and engaging Account Manager looking to take the most out of every opportunity. If you don't come from the events industry, that's ok, as we're really more focused on your ability to build and manage account relationships, together with your willingness to grow, learn and adapt to changing conditions as they arise.

We're also looking for:

- A previous background in an Account Management role or similar
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to negotiate and problem solve
- A successful track record in interpreting, collaborating, and delivering customer expectations and needs
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
- Advanced computer literacy with demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office
