**About the role**

This mid-level position contributes to the vital role of design in providing website development, digital products, and consulting services to our clients. We are looking for a designer with natural creative flair and a passion for creating human-centred user experiences.

Our work ranges from short web design assignments through to multi-month, deep product design projects. In this role you will have the agility to move between designing beautiful websites, creating easy-to-use digital experiences, and providing client consultation.

At its core, this role is about solving customer requirements using incisive UX and UI design in a way that delights our internal and external stakeholders. You are solving business problems and maximising social good impact through your innovative approach.

The role will have a primary focus on our Heartburst NFP clients, however it will also include projects from sister brands Day3 (commercial focus) and Generous (donation platform).

This position requires a team player, with solid communication skills for dealing with internal stakeholders from our development and delivery functions.

**What you’ll bring**

We’re looking for a talented digital designer with approximately 5+ years of experience. Prior experience in the non-profit sector is advantageous.

- Ability to design icon sets, ensuring icons have consistent use of design principles

Illustration
- Ability to create aesthetically pleasing illustrations according to their personal design style

Ideation
- Uses moodboards to understand a brief
- Uses wireframes to approximate the layout of a design and plan optimised user flows

Image manipulation
- Competent in retouching images, including resampling, retouching, colour correction, and recomposition
- Competent is creating and editing vector based imagery.

Creative Process
- Demonstrates original ideas in the planning process
- Demonstrates a strong design aesthetic
- Interprets briefs to develop a good understanding of customer requirements

Use of digital design tools
- Solid experience with digital design software: Figma

Sketch
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Illustrator
- Experience with CMS theme building software (e.g. Elementor + Wordpress)
- Understanding of HTML and CSS is advantageous

UX Design
- Applies human centred design thinking
- User / customer journeys
- Personas and user scenarios

UI Design
- Designs high definition interactive prototypes
- Uses rapid sketching techniques to introduce and discuss design ideas
- Participates in ideation workshops
- Considers accessibility in UI design

Branding
- Experienced with brand style guides, executing with and extending on brand elements according to guidelines

Design systems
- Designs components for use within design systems

Consultancy
- Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required.
- Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups

Client Feedback
- Adept at responding to client feedback using feedback functions within design tools.
- Pays attention to a high level of detail in responding to client feedback
- Understands design approval process

Photography
- Has an eye for photography and helps select photos for use in projects/branding

User research
- Can facilitate useability tests

Travel flexibility
- Is mobile and can travel interstate on occasion
