- Seeking passionate Communication Lead to support Westpac Group’s HR strategic priorities

**How will I help?**

Our Communication Leads within Corporate Affairs are accountable for providing strategic corporate communications support, enabling divisions of Westpac as directed (which may include HR, Risk, Finance, Customer & Corporate Services, Technology and Legal). This role will see you working at a senior level to provide strategic corporate communications counsel predominantly focussing on HR and HR Projects.

We’re looking for a communications professional to help support our senior leaders craft and deliver messages to connect and empower their teams. You will play a crucial role in lifting employee engagement and supporting our business with new initiatives and campaigns.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Developing and delivering end-to-end corporate affairs strategies to support business objectives and employee engagement.
- Providing trusted reputational counsel to the business and its leaders, effectively identifying, mitigating, and managing reputation risks and issues.
- Providing measurement and insights on the outcomes of communication strategies and identifying opportunities to improve effectiveness.
- Developing creative communication campaigns, based on wide and deep knowledge of business needs, with considering of both internal and external requirements.
- Management of internal All Ins and events, producing written and video communication materials with the aim of achieving key strategic business outcomes.
- Work with Group Media, Reputation and Government Affairs teams as well as senior stakeholders across the Group on initiatives as required that benefit or protect the reputation of the company and its people.

**What do I need?**
- Significant (10years plus) experience in corporate communications (public relations or in-house positions).
- Successful track record of working within large organisations with complex reputation issues.
- Experience in all aspects of corporate communications - issues and crisis management, media, stakeholder engagement, reputation management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication ability.
- Advanced ability to negotiate and influence across senior stakeholders.
- Ability to build and manage strong relationships with senior executives and a range of stakeholders and business partners.
- Strategic thinking, flexibility, ability to respond to short deadlines, operates independently and effectively in an unstructured work environment.
- Ability to proactively identify issues before they arise and develop strategies to minimise reputational risk for the Group.
- Strong creativity and ability to develop communications and events that engage employees.
- Tertiary degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Digital Media.
- Good level of commercial awareness and understanding of Westpac Group’s business strategy.
