**About the Role**
LOCATION: W E S T - E N D
** **_**The participant is a female in her 30's that is after a talkative yet laid-back MALE support worker in their 30s-40s. The participant has BPD, Anxiety and PTSD, so we are after a kindhearted support worker that is able to assist, reassure and sooth the participant as needed.**_
- **The participant has requested a support worker that has CLEAR English communication abilities and has preferences towards an Australian Male that she can understand.**_
- **It should be noted that the participant has stated that she 'gets attached to staff easily ' and is looking for a team of support workers that can enforce strong boundaries and help her re-engage within the community. **_
- Prompting with all Personal Cares
- Prompting with medication
- Meal preparation and cooking
- Light household duties
- Redirection / de-escalation experience
- Maintain critical thinking and problem-solving abilities throughout shift
- Must be proactive and take initiative
- Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the participant's level of independence
- Great communication skills
- Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct
- Ability to work in partnership with NDIS participants to achieve their goals
- A passion for assisting individuals who struggle with a disability to improve their quality of life

**Requirements**:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who holds a minimum of a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) **OR **a minimum of 2 years of experience in the mental health sector **and **the following qualities:

- Working with children card (Blue card)
- NDIS Worker Screening check (Yellow Card)
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificates
- Current Police Check
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Driver's License
- Registered personal vehicle with comprehensive car insurance and a willingness to use for transporting clients (when required)

**Additionally, you will need**:

- Clear _Verbal and Written_ Communication
- Critical thinking with the ability to problem solve - knows how to take initiative
- Have a basic understanding of Mental Health
- Experience with Mental Health _(not essential, but highly desired)_

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week

Work Location: In person
