**About the Opportunity**:
This role will play a crucial part in efficiently manage Workcover claim and injury management, including the initial incident reporting, documentation, and follow-up with relevant parties, to ensure timely and accurate processing.

**About you**:
We are looking for someone who can:

- Minimise workers compensation premiums through making recommendations and implementing effective strategies and following up on these.
- Minimise legal costs and any other costs associated with claims.
- Investigate and respond to incidents, maximise rehabilitation and return to work outcomes and minimise the impact of Workcover claims on premiums.
- Injury management by collaboration with injured employees and their healthcare providers/medical teams to create and implement effective injury management plans.
- Develop and implement best practice workers’ compensation and injury management strategies, initiatives and systems to continually improve current and future performance.
- Develop and implement Return-to-Work programs that support injured employees in their transition back to the workplace.

**Essential**:

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, or related discipline)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Workcover or injury management, preferably in a similar role within the healthcare sector or a Not For Profit organisation
- Knowledge of AS4801 OHS Management Systems or 14000 Risk Management Systems.
- Experience in dealing with WHS and workers compensation issues in mergers and acquisitions.
- Proven experience in WHS and Workers Compensation in a diverse working environment.
- Strong experience representing organisations with the insurer, legal advisers, rehabilitation providers and the workers compensation conciliation.
- Experience in managing Workers Compensation Claims from an employer perspective.
- Thorough knowledge of administrative and procedural aspects of respective state Work Cover Authorities (WorkSafe)
- In depth knowledge of occupational health and safety and workers compensation legislation in Victoria.
