**General Manager Operations**
Foodbank SA is South Australia's leading food relief organisation, dedicated to sourcing and distributing food and grocery items to those in need. As part of a national network, they work tirelessly to ensure the continuous flow of food and services to support our community. Foodbank relies on generous donations from manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and growers, as well as monetary contributions and sponsorships.
Over 135,000 South Australians rely on Foodbank SA services every month, with one third of these being children. As South Australia’s largest food relief agency, Foodbank supplies food to more than 684 welfare agencies, community groups and 550 school programs across Adelaide’s metro, regional and country areas. To further its mission, Foodbank is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated General Manager of Operations to join its team.
Foodbank is committed to achieving its long-term strategic goal and the General Manager Operations is a newly created, diverse and hands-on role. As the General Manager Operations, you will play a crucial role in managing and directing all activities related to the distribution and dissemination of food and groceries to clients. This includes overseeing Foodbank’s network of Food Hubs, managing the provision of food to welfare agencies and ensuring exceptional client services. Collaborating with Regional Managers, you will work to meet the diverse needs of Foodbank’s clients across multiple regions.
To succeed in this role, you must have a minimum of 10 years of operational management experience, preferably in multi-site retail management. A strong commitment to community service and the not-for-profit sector is highly desirable. Foodbank is looking for a creative thinker with strong lateral problem-solving abilities along with a high level of professionalism and work ethic. Your leadership capabilities and stakeholder management skills will be essential in maintaining the efficient operation of the regional management team, consisting of Adelaide Metro, Western & Eyre Peninsula, Riverland, Limestone Coast, Murraylands and Central Australia.
Interested applicants must also have a current driver’s licence, DSCI Clearance (or willing to obtain) and undergo a National Police check. Some local and interstate travel will be required.
