The NFSA has a diverse range of operations including Arc cinema, film and audio preservation labs, online research and learning resources, climate-controlled storage facilities and a range of access and national programs.

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic and experienced Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) services expert who has strong, demonstrated technical skills in an Australian Government context to be our Manager, ICT Operations. The successful applicant needs to be a problem solver who has a good rapport with both internal and external stakeholders and has demonstrated leadership skills.

You will also be responsible for vendor management and cost optimisation ensure the NFSA’s ICT and engineering platforms can be delivered in a sustainable manner.

You will have the demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice, problem solving and issues management for internal and external stakeholders and generate workable technical solutions to problems. You will have the ability to initiate, implement and drive change. You will need to work closely and collaboratively with the leadership team and display an engaging client service attitude with a “can do” mindset and be a committed team player. You will have a strong background and demonstrated proficiency in ICT Operations including, cloud services, systems monitoring and security. Ideally, you will have experience with best practices such as ITIL, project management certification and a background of excellence in operational ICT management, including automation, capacity planning and business service continuity.

Under broad direction, the successful applicant will be accountable for:

- Providing strategic advice, problem solving and issues management for internal stakeholders and generating workable technical solutions to problems.
- Managing a team of skilled ICT and Engineering staff providing leadership and mentoring to them.
- Managing the information communication technology risks and IT Security for the NFSA.
- Providing high quality and timely advice on emerging challenges and opportunities in ICT. Initiating implementing and driving change.
- Working closely and collaboratively with the leadership team and displaying an engaging client service attitude with a “can do” mindset.

To be successful, you will bring to the role:

- Extensive experience in all areas of information technology;
- Experience operating in the Australian Government environment and at the executive management level;
- A well-developed understanding of technological changes and trends and the operating context for the NFSA’s work including, but not limited to, Government operating environments;
- Strongly developed people skills and the ability to collaborate and work with others to achieve outstanding results;
- The demonstrated ability to initiate, embrace and lead change; and
- The demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team.

**Selection Criteria**
- Experience and understanding of ICT related cyber security requirements in an Australian Government agency.
- Demonstrated experience in developing policies and procedures for IT general controls (ITGC).
- Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to create and foster collaborative and productive relationships with staff and internal clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present complex ICT issues to a range of audiences in a clear and logical manner.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated capability through past employment experience and relevant tertiary and/or industry qualifications is required for this role.
- ICT operations management experience.
- Experience with an organisations cyber security program, ensuring compliance with cyber security policy, standards, regulations, and legislation.

The following are also desirable:

- ITIL and project management certifications.
- Cyber Security certifications.

**Eligibility**
To be eligible for this position you must:

- Be an Australian Citizen; and
- Satisfactorily complete an Australian Federal Police National Police Check.

The other eligibility that may be included in a job would also include the following:

- Obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance; and
- Obtain and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People registration.
