**About the Opportunity**:
We are seeking a suitably qualified Electronics Technician to work within our Data Acquisition Electronics (DAE) team specialising in neutron detector systems. The Electronics Technician reports to the Senior Electronics Engineer, and is responsible for building & maintaining electronic hardware for the operation of neutron scattering instruments at ACNS. Ideally, you will have qualifications in electronics combined with experience in building and maintaining data acquisition electronics.

**About You**:
**Your Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Maintain facility operations, through (corrective and preventative) maintenance and diagnostics to maximise the facility availability.
- Support project activities involving the design, development, installation and commissioning of new instruments to maintain the facility's international reputation.
- Develop prototype designs for instrument upgrades under instruction from the team leader.
- Document instrument changes to as-builts and original specifications.
- Install and test electronic instrumentation and systems from engineering documentation and drawings.
- Plan for and procure replacement components and modules based on system performance history.
- Responsible for planning, undertaking and completing technical work as allocated by team leader.
