**About the Opportunity**:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Engineering Technician to assist in providing safe and efficient operation of sample processing equipment within the Centre for Accelerator Science chemistry facilities. You will work independently to deliver maintenance programs for routine operations as well as contribute to the development of electrical, mechanical, and control systems for new automation and processing improvement development projects.

**About You**:
**Your Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Plan, conduct risk assessments and conduct all work in accordance with relevant safety standards
- Manage and execute a comprehensive maintenance schedule to sustain operation and availability of sample processing equipment and critical components
- Assist with the design, construction, and implementation of new or enhanced sample process lines and equipment through computer-controlled automation of electronics, vacuum systems and gas handling systems
- Assist with the planning and procurement of services and utilities to support sample process lines and equipment development.
- Maintaining stock of critical components and consumables to ensure that repairs, maintenance, and general operations can be conducted on demand.
