**About the service**:
The Surgical Services unit at John Hunter Hospital is a critical part of our healthcare system, encompassing various administrative and support roles essential to the smooth operation of our Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a Dynamic and busy 32 Bed Neurosuregery/neurology ward. As the Clinical Support officer you will work alongside our Neurosurgery and Neurology team of Nurses, Doctors, and Allied Health Staff. This role will job share and work in a shared office with the Neurology Case manager.
The environment is supportive and friendly. Everyone works hard but has fun doing it.
Ward G2 is filled with many different levels and diversity of staff. The ward is made up of nurses, NUM, allied health, doctors and there is 3x administration staff.
The work environment within the Surgical Services unit is dynamic and fast-paced, reflecting the busy nature of a major hospital. The successful applicant will receive comprehensive support through an induction and training program, which includes both face-to-face and online training, along with mentorship to facilitate a smooth transition into the role. **About the role**:
This position requires working 5 days a fortnight, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The standard shift is from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, but the NUM is flexible if you need to attend appointments. Occasionally, you may be asked to cover ward clerk duties, which is a 7:00 am to 3:30 pm shift; however, if this timing is not feasible, the 8:30 am to 5:00 pm shift is acceptable. Occasionally you will be asked to ward clerk which is a 7am - 330pm shift but if unable to do that 8.30am - 5pm is fine. The role is dynamic with a variety of tasks each day, including but not limited to:
